12 May NO-FEAR Workshop and full-scale exercise: Training and Education in emergency and disaster medicine
The NO-FEAR Consortium, whose representatives are practitioners, policymakers, suppliers, and researchers from the academic world, will gather in Novara between the 23rd and the 25th of May 2022.
NO-FEAR is a five-year project (June 2018 – May 2023) that has received funding from the European Union under the Horizon 2020 Secure Societies 2017 program. The project aims to create an active Pan-European network of practitioners, decision and policymakers, suppliers, and academia in the field of emergency medicine to share knowledge, experiences, and necessities, thus overcoming the current state of overwhelming fragmentation.
The focus of this workshop is the education and training of personnel and volunteers involved in the management of medical emergencies and disasters. This includes methods to ensure that medical and nursing schools give more importance to the education in emergency medicine; new simulation tools for education and training in pre-and in-hospital preparedness and response; evaluation of the performance of the medical responders; as well as innovative curricula and training methodologies; methods to standardize all the lessons learned and its dissemination.
The ultimate aim is to understand the state-of-the-art on training in the field of disaster medicine and to discover and test innovations, solutions, and new perspectives in the field of training, including virtual reality, extended reality, serious games, and innovative teaching techniques. But also, to experience in person and evaluate the efficacy of a complex full-scale exercise involving multiple agencies and professionals from all over the world.
NO-FEAR workshop will take place at CRIMEDIM Headquarters and SIMNOVA – Simulation Center of Università del Piemonte Orientale (Via Lanino 1, Novara) and at the Italian Army Field Hospital in Bellinzago Novarese (NO) on the 25th and will feature companies such as Accurate, Emergotrain, &ranj, Gener8, ISEE, Simulkare, SimxVR, XVR-TECSA.
