NO-FEAR Webinar Nov 17:
‘Lung Ultrasonography
in the COVID Pandemic’

NO-FEAR Work Package 3 (acute care of the patient) is hosting a webinar 17 November 14:00 (CET) titled “The Role of Lung Ultrasonography in the COVID Pandemic”.

Zoom registration is free and available here.

Lung Ultrasound (LUS) use is not a novelty to assess patients with respiratory challenges. Today LUS is being used in several European countries to detect histopathological signs of COVID-19. Webinar speakers will discuss LUS use in and outside the hospital; how signs of pneumonia relate to the other signs of COVID-19; potential triage applications; and required training.

Speakers include:

  • Ervigio Corral Torres, Head of the Department of Training and Healthcare Quality at SAMUR Civil Protection, Madrid
  • Dr. Cristina Sorlini, Emergency Medicine Consultant, San Carlo Borromeo Hospital
  • Dr. Michiel D’Hondt Anaesthesiologist and Emergency Physician, ZNA Stuivenberg Hospital, Antwerp, Belgium
  • Dr. Bélaid Bouhemad. Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care, C.H.U. Dijon, Dijon Cedex, France

The webinar will be moderated by Dr. Daniele G. Biasucci, Intensivist and Critical Care Sonographer in Neurosciences and Trauma Critical Care, Intensive Care Unit, Department of Intensive Care Medicine and Anesthesiology at the Fondazione Policlinico Universitario A. Gemelli IRCCS, Rome. Dr. Biasucci has published research on “lung ultrasound for diagnosis and monitoring of COVID‐19 pneumonia in pregnant women” and other topics in lung ultrasonography.

Other recent NO-FEAR webinars include “Pulse Oximetry during COVID-19” (Oct 29) and “COVID-19: New Wave, Old Problems?” (Oct 16).
